Senior Design Engineer

Our client is a leading solar PV developer and EPC, specializing in commercial and industrial solar projects. They are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead detailed engineering design workstreams and manage other design engineers/draftsmen
• Supervise the production of high-quality detailed design drawings (electrical, mechanical, and civil), including reviewing and providing detailed feedback on draft deliverables
• Perform and check all required electrical engineering calculations, including sizing of PV systems, ESS, inverters, switchgear, cables, and strings
• Evaluate different technology, component, and supplier options
• Ensure designs are compliant with relevant regulations, standards, and codes
• Optimize designs for performance, cost, and constructability
• Develop and maintain internal design styles, standards, and templates
• Build and develop supplier relationships
• Provide technical support to business development, installation, and O&M teams

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of solar PV design experience at the C&I scale, ideally including some hybrid/ESS systems
• 8+ years of experience in relevant industries
• Degree in electrical/power systems engineering
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering to high standards
• Expert knowledge of core software packages such as AutoCAD and PVsyst
• Good existing knowledge of industry best practice and international standards
• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• A growth mindset, with a willingness to learn and master new technical matters quickly

Advantages:

• Experience working on non-solar LV electrical systems, MV electrical systems, or communication and control/SCADA systems
• Knowledge of other relevant software packages
