Key Responsibilities:

Establish and develop logistics strategies and procedures tailored to the unique requirements of mining or oil and gas operations.
Build and manage logistics operations from inception, including procurement, inventory management, and transportation planning.
Oversee and coordinate logistics activities to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective movement of goods.
Negotiate contracts and rates with transportation and logistics service providers.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations and industry-specific governance standards.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (procurement, operations, etc.) to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics management within the mining or oil and gas sectors.
Proven track record of building and managing logistics operations from scratch.
Comprehensive knowledge of freight operations including air cargo, water cargo, and land cargo.
Strong understanding of customs regulations and governance requirements specific to mining or oil and gas industries.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
