Key Responsibilities:
- Security Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive security strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and addresses the unique challenges of the mining industry.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate security measures.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the security team, providing guidance, training, and development to ensure a high level of performance.
- Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response protocols, ensuring readiness for emergencies such as theft, sabotage, or natural disasters.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations, human resources, and legal teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and community leaders to enhance security measures and community relations.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on security awareness and best practices.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee the monitoring of security systems and technology, ensuring effective surveillance and reporting mechanisms are in place.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the security budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet security needs.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in security management with experience working in billion-dollar mining projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in security management or equivalent, Criminal Justice, theft, etc or any related field.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk assessment, and incident management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective security policies and procedures.
- Familiar with local laws and regulations related to security and safety.
- Certification in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP) is a plus.
